Please Note:
New changes to the Building Code by the Minister and the Green Energy and Green Economy Act, 2009 (GEGEA) received Royal Assent on May 14, 2009.

MINISTER'S RULING No. MR-09-S-06 Minister's Ruling No. MR-09-S-06 was issued on June 2, 2009.

This ruling updates 110 technical standards referenced in Table 1.3.1.2. of Division B of the Building Code.  The ruling came into effect on June 2, 2009 and it contains a transition provision to allow for the continued use of the previous standards for projects under construction and for projects where an application for a permit is made prior to September 2, 2009.

GREEN ENERGY AND GREEN ECONOMY ACT, 2009

The Green Energy and Green Economy Act, 2009 (GEGEA) received Royal Assent on May 14, 2009.  Schedule J of GEGEA made amendments to Section 34 of the Building Code Act, 1992 to strengthen energy and water conservation principles.
