RECOGNITION OF OUR EMPLOYERS AND GREAT CORPORATE CITIZENS

Ramara Township Mayor and Council and members of the Ramara Fire and Rescue Services would like to show our appreciation to you and all the businesses and corporations that employ our firefighting staff.  It is because of these employers that Ramara Fire and Rescue Services can provide the professional service that we have all become accustom to. Your willingness to support our fire service is undeniably a willingness to provide life saving services to the people in our communities.

We wish to thank you for your efforts and for affording our volunteers the ability to respond from their place of work in order to protect the lives and property of those within our community.

There is no greater service than that of compassion for a fellow human being in their time of need and that is what you are providing to your community by selflessly allowing your employee to serve the community.

For this we thank you.

Ramara Fire and Rescue Service staff worked diligently as a team of professionals to acquire Water Tanker Shuttle Accreditation. This accreditation ensures that Ramara Fire and Rescue Service can supply enough water to fight a major fire in an area that is not serviced by hydrants. Achieving this means that rural residents in non-hydrant areas of the Township may be eligible for a reduced rate on their home insurance. Check with your insurance company!  A copy of the certification letter is available by clicking the link below or at the Township Administration office.  If you require further information please contact Ramara Fire and Rescue Services at 705-484-5374, ext. 253.

Ramara Fire & Rescue Services consists of three Fire Halls and the department is a volunteer organization comprised of up to 60 dedicated men and women under the direction of the Fire Chief Ted Conway, who all strive to provide the best possible service to the residents of our municipality, whether the response is regarding fire, a motor vehicle accident or a health related issue.
The Fire & Rescue Services’ primary function is to attend to fires within our communities; however they are also very involved in emergency rescue on land and water. Our Fire Administrator, Tony Stong, provides inspection services with regard to home safety, wood stove installation and vendor licensing.
There is also a Public Safety Awareness Program whereby some of our volunteers go to schools and rural fairs to demonstrate the "fire house" and advise residents with regard to home safety
