Reporting directly to the Mayor and Council, the Chief Administrative Officer is the Township's senior appointed official responsible for providing organizational leadership to municipal staff in the delivery of municipal services to the Township's residents and businesses and is responsible for all staff and personnel matters. The Chief Administrative Officer also acts as the principal advisor to Council in the development and implementation of public policy.

The Clerk is responsible for all statutory duties as defined under the Municipal Act, Election Act, and other legislation which includes the recording of all resolutions, decisions and other proceedings of Council and Committee, preparation of bylaws, and elections.

In addition, the Clerk provides information and administration services to Council, Committees, departments and our citizens, relaying decisions or policy of Council and conveying information to facilitate the effective operations of the government.

Bylaw enforcement, business and lottery licencing, canine control, sale of municipal land, land transfers, easements, encroachments and economic development are controlled under this department.


FOI (Freedom of Information)
The Clerk's Department processes all requests for information under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA).

This Act gives the public the right to request access to government held information. The Act also protects personal information held by government organizations and provides individuals with a right of access to their own personal information. 

Submit your request form for information under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, along with the required $5.00 request fee, payable to the Township of Ramara.  Additional fees to be applied include Photocopying (20 cents per page); Search and Preparation Time ($7.50 per 15 minutes).
