The Mara Medical Centre is owned by the Township of Ramara and operated by the Mara Medical Centre Board, members who are appointed by Council for the term of Council.  The Medical Centre was originally built by the Brechin & District Lions Club and was turned over to the Township for maintenance and operation.  The Medical Board consists of two representatives of the Lions Club, one member at large and two Council representatives.

The building contains four separate units consisting of a doctor’s office, a church office and a Community Policing/OPP office on the upper level and the Brechin branch of the Ramara Public Library on the lower level.

The doctor’s office has two adjoining examination rooms that will allow the physician with an office for consultation and a private examination room with basic medical furniture and water facilities.  There are also separate offices that will accommodate a secretary and records.  A separate room contains an ECG and Spirometer Machines.

The common areas include a waiting area with men, women and accessible washroom facilities.  There are 20 available parking spaces and the both levels are wheelchair accessible.
